What are Cookie Files
Cookies are small files saved and stored on your computer, tablet, or smartphone while you visit different websites. A cookie typically contains the name of the website from which it originates, the “lifespan” of the cookie (i.e., how long it exists), and a randomly generated unique number used to identify the browser that connects to the website.
Cookie Policy
In connection with providing website content, so-called cookies are used, i.e., information saved by servers on the user’s end device, which can be read every time the device connects to the internet. This may also include other technologies with similar or identical functions as cookies. In this document, information regarding cookies also applies to other similar technologies used within our websites. Cookies (i.e., “small cookies”) are computer data, particularly text files, that are stored on the end device of a website user. Cookies usually contain the domain name of the website they come from, the duration of their storage on the end device, and a unique number.
Purposes of using cookies:
- To customize the content of the website to the user’s preferences and optimize the use of websites; in particular, these files allow recognizing the user’s device and properly display the website, tailored to their individual needs,
- To create statistics that help understand how users use the websites, which enables improving their structure and content,
- To maintain the user’s session on the website (after logging in), thanks to which the user does not have to re-enter their login and password on every page of the website,
- To deliver advertising content to users more tailored to their interests.
Types of cookies we may use within the website:
- “Necessary” cookies, enabling the use of services available on the website, e.g., authentication cookies used for services that require authentication within the website,
- Cookies used to ensure security, e.g., those used to detect fraud in authentication within the website,
- Cookies, enabling the collection of information about how the website pages are used,
- “Functional” cookies, allowing “remembering” user-selected settings and personalizing the user interface, e.g., regarding the chosen language or region from which the user comes, the size of the font, the appearance of the website, etc.,
- “Advertising” cookies, enabling the delivery of advertising content to users more tailored to their interests.
In many cases, the software for browsing websites (web browser) by default allows the storage of cookies on the user’s end device. Users of the website can change cookie settings at any time. These settings can be changed in such a way as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the browser settings or to inform about their placement on the user’s device each time. Detailed information about the possibilities and ways of handling cookies is available in the software settings (web browser). Failing to change the cookie settings means that they will be placed on the user’s end device, and thus we will store information on the end device and access this information.
Disabling cookies may cause difficulties in using some services within our websites, especially those requiring login. However, disabling the option of accepting cookies does not mean that it is impossible to read or view the content posted on the website, except for those to which access requires login.
Cookies can be placed on the user’s end device of the website and then used by cooperating advertisers, research companies, and multimedia application providers.
